SUHAS ROY

Born in 1936 in West Bengal. He studied painting at the Indian college of Art and Draftmanship, Kolkata (1953 - 1958) His works have been exhibited in several solo shows and group shows at various important art galleries in India and abroad.

Suhas Roy\'s preoccupation with the female face and form, and his subjects are ramanticised inhabitating the dreamlike world between sensuality and innocence.The graceful potrayals of of his subjects has much to do with his choice of materials - his crayons, charcoal and brush have sensitivity and refinement....

Awards: 1957-58 Annual exhibition awards, Kolkata, AIFACS 1969, New Delhi, Birla academy awards, Kolkata 1973 and many other prestigious awards..

He lives and works in Kolkata...
