| Manik Bandopadhyay
Manik Bandopadhyay (1916–2002), a prominent Indian artist renowned for his mastery of the medium.
Born in Barisal (present-day Bangladesh), he studied at the Government College of Art and Craft in Calcutta. He was a pioneer in watercolour on silk, a challenging technique that required exceptional control over lines and color harmony. His work often focused on rural Indian life, Vedic and Tantric philosophies, and spiritual depictions of everyday scenes.
