Gurudas Shenoy steeps his intriguing abstract paintings – featuring landscapes and cityscapes – in rich swathes of earthy brown and smoky red, moss green and bright orange.His use of colours is inspired by his early influences of growing up surrounded by the beauty of the terrain and the folk art forms of Yakshagana and Nagamandal.Beginning from his Urban Space series,His works are dominated by geometrical shapes which he sees as a reflection of his maturing artistic vision.He started with landscapes and monuments in watercolours and moved on to realistic painting.
