NEW DELHI: The parliamentary standing committee on information technology on Friday summoned Twitter officials and emphasised that the laws followed in the country are supreme and the social media platform needs to abide by them, news agency PTI reported quoting sources. "Rule of land is supreme and not your policy," the panel told representatives of Twitter present at the meeting. The members of the parliamentary panel also asked Twitter as to why it should not be fined for violating the rule of the land. "How are you placed in Twitter India and how much executive authority you have in terms of taking important policy decisions," the panel members asked the company to submit these in writing. |
